Preventing Back Injury - The vast majority of back injuries are preventable; however, many back problems are not the result of injury, but of the result of the degeneration of the discs. Aging of the spinal disc material causes the most trouble and can cause extreme pain. What this means is that over the years, this delicate discs become worn and damaged.
Back Injury Responsibility - The back is a complex unit made of several components. The spine is made of bones, nerves, and discs. The bones give your back strength while the discs act like shock absorbers between the bones. The discs absorb the pressure applied to your back and bones so they get a lot of wear and tear.
Exercise is key in helping prevent back injuries. Workers in poor physical condition are at significantly greater risk of an injury.
