Bloodborne Pathogens (BBPs) are microorganisms that can spread diseases through blood and other bodily fluids. Part 1 of BBP talks about BBPs. It covers types of BBPs, including viruses like HIV and hepatitis, and emphasizes where they are commonly and uncommonly found.

The course details how BBPs transmit, either directly or indirectly, and highlights the BBP Exposure Control Plan’s role in minimizing workplace risks.

• Recognize Locations of Bloodborne Pathogens (BBP): Identify the areas where bloodborne pathogens (BBP) can be present and distinguish where they are not typically found.

• Comprehend BBP Exposure and Transmission: Develop a comprehensive understanding of how bloodborne pathogens are transmitted and the potential risks associated with exposure.

• Distinguish Between Direct and Indirect Exposure: Differentiate between direct exposure to BBP and indirect exposure, understanding the varying levels of risk and appropriate precautions.

• Understand the Exposure Control Plan: Gain insight into the Exposure Control Plan, including its components, purpose, and relevance in managing and mitigating BBP risks.

Training Format: Online VR Simulation. Learners can complete the course with or without a VR headset on all mobile devices and laptops.
